MIDI TIMECODE SYNC
SUMMARY
In audiovisual production, it is common to encounter problems. We needed a tool to play a video on another computer in parallel to free up resources on our workstation, which is why we created this app. The MTC (MIDI Timecode) protocol embeds time information in small MIDI messages; we needed to connect our DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) with a computer connected to the network. To achieve this, we created a client capable of reading these messages and controlling the playback of a video over the network.
This way, we could synchronize audio or sound with the image and monitor the HD 1080p synchronization without compromising the memory of the DAW.
The application is called Portrait, and we haven't published it, but you can download it here.
