THE SHOUTCAST ERA
SUMMARY
Shoutcast is a streaming server that allows radio stations to efficiently broadcast audio online. Shoutcast is developed by Nullsoft. It uses MP3 or AAC encoding for audio content and HTTP. It is powerful and stable, meaning it can handle all your radio traffic on the Internet without accidents or other issues. The output format is read by multiple client programs, including Nullsoft Winamp, Apple iTunes, and Windows Media Player (only versions from 9 onwards), and it can be integrated into the web through Flash.
